headstock points to the left. Now let’s tune your guitar. If you don’t have a perfect ear for music,
you could use a digital guitar tuner on this purpose. The standard tuning is E, A, D, G, B, E
(beginning from the thickest string). Now you can actually start playing.
In order to play well without having your hand aching all the time, you should train your fingers. So begin with playing scales. Place you first finger of the left hand on the first fret of the sixth string and pull the string with the other hand. Then do the same thing with the second, third and fourth frets.
Try it with all six strings. This will help you keep you fingers strong and fast.
Now you are ready to play some basic chords. Let’s try chord C. Place your third finger on the third fret of the fifth string. Now, put your second finger on the second fret of the fourth string. Finally, put your first finger on the first fret of the second string. But don’t touch the sixth string. Now go over the strings with your right hand. Voila! You’re playing the C chord! You can look for other chords and play them all while you learn to be a guitarist.
